These works stand for finding beauty in something that is flawed or imperfect, broken but also remade and repaired. Rather than something to disguise, breakage and repair become a part of the visible history of a painting, and perhaps a source of its beauty and intimacy. It is hoped that in this small way, the artworks could lend a view of grace and hopefulness to our fragmented and fractured contemporary world.
